Last updated 6 October 2026. Figures come from CBSE result announcements as reported by major education outlets; sources are listed at the end. This page is an information guide and is not run by CBSE.
Quick answer: CBSE declared the Class 10 Phase 1 (main) result on 15 April 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 93.70%. The second board exam result came on 18 July 2026, and the combined pass percentage after both exams was reported as 96.78%. To check your result, open cbseresults.nic.in or cbse.gov.in, click the Class 10 result link and enter your roll number, school number and admit card ID. DigiLocker and UMANG also give you the marksheet.
How to check your CBSE 10th result
Method 1: CBSE official websites
- Open cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in or cbse.gov.in.
- Click the Class 10 (Secondary School Examination) result link for the exam you want: Phase 1 or the second board exam.
- Enter your roll number, school number and admit card ID. For the second exam, the portal also asked for date of birth and a security PIN.
- Submit, then save the result as a PDF or screenshot.
Method 2: DigiLocker (marksheet and passing certificate)
- Go to results.digilocker.gov.in or open the DigiLocker app and sign in with your mobile number or Aadhaar OTP.
- Open the Education section and choose CBSE.
- Select Class X Marksheet or Passing Certificate.
- Enter your roll number, school code and year of passing, then tap Get Document.
Method 3: UMANG app
The UMANG app has carried CBSE results in earlier years, and sources reported it again for 2026. If the website is crowded, try it as a backup.
Stay safe: Checking a result is free. Nobody can “get” your roll number or speed up your result for money. On result day, fake result websites and apps appear and collect personal details. Use only the official domains above, and do not share your roll number, admit card ID or date of birth in comment sections or social media.
Keep ready: roll number, school number and admit card ID (all printed on your admit card), date of birth, and your DigiLocker login if you use it. If you have lost the admit card, your school can give you these details.

Two board exams: what Phase 1 and the second exam mean
From 2026, CBSE Class 10 students could appear in a main (Phase 1) exam and then, if eligible, in a second exam to improve scores or clear compartments. The second exam ran from 15 to 21 May 2026, and its result, originally targeted for 30 June, was declared on 18 July 2026 (reported by Vidyamandir and Careers360). About 6.6 lakh students appeared.
If you took only Phase 1 and passed, your Phase 1 result stands. If you took the second exam, check which marks are reflected in the final marksheet in DigiLocker, and read CBSE’s own notice for the exact rule on how your best marks are counted.
Result not opening? What to try
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Website slow or down | Lakhs of students check together. Switch to DigiLocker or UMANG, or try again after an hour. |
| “Result not found” or wrong details | Recheck roll number, school number and admit card ID against the admit card. Choose the correct exam (Phase 1 or second exam) and year. |
| DigiLocker shows no marksheet | It can take time to appear after declaration. Check that your DigiLocker details match your school records, and use the website result meanwhile. |
| Wrong name or date of birth | Tell your school at once with proof. The school raises the correction with CBSE. Corrections get harder later. |
| Marks look wrong | See the verification and re-evaluation section below. |
Understanding your result
- Passing marks: at least 33% in each subject.
- Online score card vs marksheet: the website result is for quick viewing. Your marksheet and passing certificate are the documents to use for admissions, and DigiLocker provides them. Keep the school-issued copy too, since some institutions still ask for it.
- Percentage: CBSE does not publish an official overall percentage on the marksheet. For your own use, add your subject marks and divide by the total maximum marks, then multiply by 100. Schools may count only best-five subjects for admission, so ask the school you apply to how it calculates.
Verification, photocopy and re-evaluation
If you think a subject was marked wrongly, CBSE offers a staged process: verification of marks, a photocopy of your evaluated answer book, and re-evaluation of specific answers. Each stage has a short window, a fee per subject and its own notice on cbse.gov.in. Dates and fees change every year, so do not rely on last year’s numbers. Apply within the days stated in the current notice, and check the amount on the official page before paying.
Choosing your Class 11 stream
Look at marks subject by subject, not just the total. A student with 92 in Maths and 70 in Social Science needs different advice from one with the reverse, even at the same total.
| Stream | Look first at | Where it can lead |
|---|---|---|
| Science (PCM) | Maths, Science | JEE, engineering, B.Sc |
| Science (PCB) | Science, Maths | NEET, medical courses, B.Sc |
| Commerce | Maths, English, Social Science | B.Com, CA, CS, BBA |
| Humanities | Social Science, English, Hindi | BA via CUET, law, civil services preparation |
Schools set their own Class 11 eligibility, so ask your target school what it requires for each stream. If marks are lower than hoped, polytechnic diplomas and ITI courses are real routes into skilled careers, and you can still reach graduation later.
After-result checklist
- Save the result as a PDF and screenshot in two places.
- Download the DigiLocker marksheet and passing certificate.
- Verify your name, parents’ names and date of birth.
- Find your three best subjects and shortlist schools by stream.
- Keep ready: marksheet, transfer certificate, photographs and ID.
